Behaviour Management Policy 

At Penistone Grammar School Advanced Learning Centre we seek to promote good behaviour through a mutual understanding and respect for our core values (Aim High; Be Brave; Be Supportive; Be Determined; Be Proud). 

By determining clear boundaries and a hierarchy of rewards and sanctions which are applied fairly and consistently for all students we can ensure that we create a culture across our school community where learners can continue to flourish and achieve their full potential.

Special Educational Needs and Disability Policy (SEND)

Penistone Grammar School ALC is a fully inclusive school.  We believe that all students should be valued and treated with respect.  Our expectation for all our students is that they will make good to outstanding progress. 

We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) and those without, both in terms of within-school variation and variation from national expectations.

The purpose of this exam policy is:

  • to ensure the planning and management of exams is conducted efficiently and in the best interest of candidates.
  • to ensure the operation of an efficient exam system with clear guidelines for all relevant staff.
Charging and Remissions Policy

This Policy has been formulated in accordance with the Local Authorty's guidance on Charging for School Activities.

The aim of this policy is to set out what charges will be levied for activities, what remissions will be implemented and the circumstances under which voluntary contributions will be requested from parents/carers.

​ ​Policy Statement - Complaints Against the School

Penistone Grammar School ALC is committed to ensuring that complaints are resolved as quickly as possible within a clearly defined procedure. Section 29(1) of the Education Act 2002 requires that the governing body of a maintained school must have in place a procedure for dealing with complaints and this document sets out that procedure at Penistone Grammar School.
 

The nature of the complaint can relate to any aspect of the school, employees or any community facility or service that the school provides.

Pupil Premium 2016/17

At Penistone Grammar School Advanced Learning Centre we are committed to ensuring all students 'Aim High' and are supported to achieve their full potential.  This includes narrowing the attainment gap between different groups of students, including those eligible for Pupil Premium Funding.

In the current 2016/2017 financial year, Pupil Premium funding of £152,000 has been allocated to Penistone Grammar School ALC. Pupil Premium funding is available to schools as part of a government funded programme to promote the achievement of students who have received free school meals at any point in the previous 6 years, those students who are in Local Authority care and children of serving members of the armed forces.

Equality Policy

Through its Equality Policy, Penistone Grammar School ALC aims to provide a framework which eliminates unlawful discrimination and harassment, promotes equality of opportunity and promotes good relations and positive attitudes between people of diverse backgrounds in all its activities. Through the Equality Policy, Penistone Grammar School will ensure that no member of its school community, or any other person through their contact with the school, is disadvantaged.
