Post-16 Admissions
How to apply to our Post 16 centre
To secure a place at our Post-16 Centre you will need five or more GCSE passes at Grade 5 or above (including a Grade 5 or above in English Language or Literature and a Grade 5 or above in Mathematics).
You will also need to have attained a Grade 5 in GCSE in the subject you wish to study at A Level with the exception of:

For Biology A Level you will require a Grade 6 in Biology GCSE or a 6-6 in the Combined Trilogy Course, as well as a Grade 5 in Mathematics GCSE

For Chemistry A Level you will require a Grade 6 in Chemistry GCSE or a 6-6 in the Combined Trilogy Course, as well as a Grade 5 in Mathematics GCSE

For Computing A Level you will require a Grade 6 in Mathematics GCSE, as well as a Grade 5 in Computer Science GCSE

For Mathematics A Level you will require a Grade 6 in Mathematics GCSE

For Further Mathematics A Level you will require a Grade 8 in Mathematics GCSE. You are also required to take A Level Mathematics alongside this course.

For Physics A Level you will require a Grade 6 in Physics GCSE or a 6-6 in the Combined Trilogy Course, as well as a Grade 6 in Mathematics GCSE
For the non-GCSE subjects of Criminology, Politics and Psychology you will need to have achieved a Grade 5 in English Language GCSE. To study Psychology you will also need a Grade 5 in Mathematics GCSE.
For Business Studies, Economics, Media, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, and Sociology, we recognise that you may not have had the opportunity to study these subjects at GCSE. To study these subjects, you either require a Grade 5 in the subject at GCSE or a Grade 5 in English Language GCSE. To study Economics you will also need a Grade 5 in Mathematics GCSE.
You are also expected to demonstrate a positive attitude to learning and be supportive of the school’s ethos and vision statement.
