The Penistone Grammar School house system is an integral part of our school community and plays a key role in the personal development of our students. The five houses - Saunderson, Weirfield, Bowman, Fulford and Netherfield - each have their own unique history and identity, and students are proud to be a part of one of these houses.
Being a part of a house allows students to feel a sense of belonging and identity within the school community. The house system is built around a spirit of competition and collaboration, with numerous tournaments, games and quizzes organized throughout the year. These activities are designed to be fun and engaging and foster a sense of camaraderie among students. The house system also encourages a sense of community service and charity work. Each house supports individual charities and works closely with the local community to make a positive impact. The Student Leadership Team, made up of the Head Boy, Head Girl and Deputies, work with the prefect teams to represent the students across the school.
In summary, the Penistone Grammar School house system is a vital part of our school community, promoting personal development, belonging, and identity, while also linking to our rich history. It is built around a spirit of fun and competition, while also encouraging community service and charity work.
